Join the Alumni Council!
The Alumni Council is a group of Alumni from each of the Steppingstone commencement years (1991 - 2013). Members of the group will serve as class liaisons for their respective commencement years, helping to engage classmates and peers with current Steppingstone programming and initiatives. Below are ways that the members of the Alumni Council support Steppingstone programming and initiatives:
- Serve as class liaisons for their commencement year. This includes being a point of contact for Alumni from your years about upcoming events, interest in getting involved, etc. Liaisons will be asked to support the organizations’ efforts to maintain up-to-date contact information for Alumni and relay any questions, concerns, or interests to the rest of the Alumni Council and Manager of Alumni Relations!
- Support the organization’s fundraising efforts. Assist Steppingstone with maintaining Alumni participation and increasing the number of Alumni gifts each year.
- Participate in seasonal Alumni Council meetings to connect with other members of the group and support ongoing initiatives. The frequency of these meetings will depend on the upcoming Alumni events of the season (e.g., the Spring will host the Day of Giving and Alumni Reunion, so meetings will mostly be monthly). Alumni can expect to participate in a total of 4-6 Alumni Council meetings annually.
- Support Steppingstone marketing and communication efforts to raise awareness of the organization in the community, including nominating Alumni peers to be featured in the Alumni Spotlight and College Career Corner series. All marketing materials and distribution lists will be provided. Alumni Council members will be responsible for distributing marketing materials (e.g., re-sharing an instagram story, tagging friends, sharing messages with peers via text, etc.).
Benefits of joining:
- Members will have the opportunity to network with a group of like-minded individuals who are passionate about preserving the Steppingstone experience for current and future Scholars.
- Members will play a critical role in developing Alumni programming, including but not limited to the annual Alumni Reunion, Alumni site visits to Steppingstone program, and the success of Alumni engagement in philanthropic efforts.
- Member feedback and considerations will be used to improve Alumni programming.
